The days leading up to Christmas were busy this year. Chief Young, our new Fire and EMS Chief experienced his first glimpse of what it is like in our hometown. In early December his team left the Santa parade with reindeer and lights on the truck to rescue folks trapped in vehicles on I-70.
On Monday just two days before the Jolly Old Elf would come down the chimney with toys in his sack, the crew lends a hand to the Enon PD for a joint rescue of Whiskers the kitten stuck 30 feet high in a tree.
Mr. Whiskers reports that he needed some help and encouragement from the rescue team. He notes that he was “scared” but found courage to come down from that big old tree thanks to the officers who came to his rescue.
Chief Young wished Whiskers a great holiday and suggested he not venture off to such places again. In reply on social media, Whiskers agreed.
