On Friday evening before Christmas, vandals damaged eleven mailboxes in Houck Meadows and the Sunnybrook Trail area of the village. All of the boxes were rural style mounted to posts that were lifted out of the ground at some locations.
According to Sergeant Mike Holler of the Enon Police Department, extra patrols were added to the area in hopes of deterring more vandalism. Recently the area was also hit by thieves taking items from unlocked vehicles parked in driveways.
The Enon Police Department would like anyone who is a victim of vandalism or who sees unusual activity in their neighborhood to contact the office at the non-emergency dispatch number 328-2560.
If you can safely get a license plate number, description of a vehicle or person, this may help to lead to the apprehension of the perpetrators.
