Several basketball players from the immediate area have been honored by the area coaches, as the District Nine all-star teams were voted on recently.

Tecumseh freshman Bianca Quisenberry was selected as a member of the Girls Division One Media Team, which consists of 10 girls voted on by the coaches in Division One.  Quisenberry averaged nearly 23 points per game this season, as the Lady Arrows finished with seven victories on the season.
In Division Two, Greenon senior Allie Turner was also named to that divisions’ Media Team.  Turner averaged nearly 30 points per game for the Lady Knights, and will attend Morehead State on a full scholarship.
From Division Four, Bethel senior Emily Ellerbrock was named to the team, as the Lady Bees standout averaged 14.4 points and nine rebounds per game this season.
Turner also received the highest honor possible for Division Two, being named the Player of the Year in the division.  Other Players of the Year were Kacie Cassell of Vandalia-Butler (Division One), Megan Campbell of Versailles (Division Three) and Jaclyn Willoughby of Houston (Division Four).
The Ohio North-South representative from District Nine for the Division One-Two game is Turner, beating out Cassell for that spot in the state all-star game.
On the boys side, Erik Smith was the lone member of the CBC champion Tecumseh Arrows boys team to make the Division One team.  Tecumseh coach Roger Culbertson was also honored as the Coach of the Year in Division One.
Bethel placed three players on the Division Three Media Team, as the Cross County Conference co-champs had seniors Scott Masin, Mike James, and Jon Sutton all on the team.
The Players of the Year were: Division One D.J. Martinez of Troy, Division Two Nick Van Hoose of Graham and Kyle Morris of Kenton Ridge, Derek Billing of Anna, and J.P. McFarland of Southeastern.
Also coming up will be the annual District Nine Senior All-Star games, set for Edison State Community College in Piqua.
On Thursday, April 8, the Division 1-2-3 game will pit several area players.  For the East team, Kyra Dorney from Greenon was chosen to play in the event, while Turner will not be playing, since she is playing in the maximum two all-star game limit, playing in the North-South game, and the Ohio-Kentucky game.  No local girls were selected to the West team.
In the Division Four game, the East team will consist of Ellerbrock and Bethel Township resident Maria Schafer, a senior at Troy Christian.
For the boys game on Friday, April 9, the Division 1-2-3 West team will include Masin and James, while Bethel coach Rick Hickman will be one of the coaches.
On the East team, Culbertson will be coaching, and Smith, along with Dustin Holmes, will be playing.
The games begin each day at 6:30 and 8:00 p.m.
